Dental implants

What is a dental implant?
Technically, a dental implant is a small but very strong post made from bio-compatible metals or ceramics. Under local anesthetic, it is inserted into the jaw bone in place of the missing tooth root and acts as a support for the tooth. Dental implant therapy is today's long-term, state of the art restoration technique that can cover all indications. It has been scientifically tested and used in the last three decades by qualified dentists and surgeons worldwide.

We place and restore all types of dental implants at Pure North Dental Clinic.
Cost for restoring a missing tooth with a dental implant can vary depending on:
  • brand of the implant
Like with cars, different manufacturers make different products and offer a variety of options, which is reflected in price. We  offer solutions that fit most budgets, from less expensive to premium.
  • amount of bone present
In many cases implant can be placed in the jawbone directly. However, sometimes there is simply not enough bone to support the implant. Bone augmentation becomes a procedure of choice, which aims to increase available bone.  These additional steps may add to the cost.
  • position of the implant
If the tooth to be replaced is in the front a temporary solution (temporary crown on the implant or a removable denture) may be required.
Ballpark estimate for a "turn-key" dental implant with a crown is $2500-4000. Please do not hesitate to call if you need a consultation or have questions.
At Pure North Dental Clinic we are able to treat most cases from start to finish. From initial consultation and planning to CBCT (3D bone scan), to implant placement, and to delivering a matching tooth-colored crown.

Zirconia implants

For patients who are concerned about or have been  diagnosed with metal sensitivities or simply want metal-free restorations for their own reasons - we place and restore ceramic Zirconia implants. There are a few dental implant manufacturers that produce Zirconia implants. Straumann is considered a world leader in dental implants and they produce one of the best ceramic implants on the market Straumann Pure.
Zirconia implants show excellent integration with the bone and gingival tissues. There is no metallic color.
