Covid-19 and Safety measures we take
Emotions are high right now as our staff, doctors and patients try to navigate not only work but also new challenges in their personal lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. While things are certainly not “business as usual,” we wanted to let you know we are here for you in our clean, comfortable, and safe environment. We follow the recommendations set out by the Alberta Dental Association and College. We love what we do and the people we help, and we are always here to help you. Your safety is our #1 priority.
Here is just a small list of things we have done to ensure safety for everyone who comes into our office:
Here is just a small list of things we have done to ensure safety for everyone who comes into our office:
- Most importantly, we reviewed every protocol, method and material we used to ensure that we are thorough in our sterilization, disinfection systems, and office procedures. We , like most of businesses, evolved and adapted to reflect new realities of operating during and after the coronovirus pandemic.
- Screening patients and all employees prior their visit via ONLINE SELF-ASSESSMENT or on the phone so that high-risk patients or those with flu-like symptoms stay at home.
- We have limited our operational capacity: fewer patients will be in the office at a time. Limited staff and patients number at a time allows for social distancing, as well as complete disinfection of the rooms between procedures. Our patients are scheduled in such a manner for your maximum protection.
- The reception and waiting area have been cleared of most shared items to maintain elevated level of cleanliness and allow for ease of frequent disinfection.
- We advise patients that arrive by car to wait in their cars until it's the appointment time. Any additional people who are with you should wait outside of the clinic premises for the duration of your appointment. For minors - only one accompanying adult can go inside. This will allow us to ensure the office is cleaned and ready in between each patient.
- We increased the frequency of wiping and cleaning common areas, counters, door handles etc.
- Whenever possible we encourage patients to use their own smartphones or computers to fill out our PATIENT FORMS online before their appointment, thus reducing pen sharing and time spent in the clinic.
- A medical garment cleaning & laundry service was hired to launder our uniforms. This ensures that our uniforms are absolutely free of any concerns. All staff members use one fresh gown per patient for any procedure that generates aerosols, this gown is then safely taken off (doffed) and sent for reprocessing.
- For aerosol-generating procedures (drilling, scaling etc.) our staff will use FACE SHIELDS to allow for higher level of mutual protection for the employee and a patient.
![]() 10 . We have installed commercial grade central air purification system by ODOROX that is running 24/7. It includes a UV light that kills bacteria, mold and viruses and reduces airborne particulates such as dust, dander, pollen, and mold.
"Aerosol Research & Engineering Laboratories (ARE) tested the Odorox® MDU/Rx following FDA guidelines. All five tests on FDA-selected viruses, bacteria, and mold had kill rates of between 4 and 5 log reductions (99.99% - 99.999%) within two hours - an exceptionally high and fast kill rate. FDA then approved the Odorox® MDU/Rx as a Class II Medical Device for use in occupied areas." |
11. Our staff is using CaviCide™ and CaviWipes™ throughout our office after each patient. It is one of the most powerful sanitizing agents available for eliminating germs, bacteria, and viruses. CaviCide™ and CaviWipes™ have respective authorities approval and is the disinfectant of choice in the dental industry. It is trusted by leading infection control experts and is strong enough to kill E. Coli, MRSA, Staph, Listeria, Human Coronavirus, TB, Hepatitis B Virus, Hepatitis C Virus, HIV, viruses, bacteria, and fungi. |
12. IQAir filtration system provides environmental control for dental offices, proven protection against viruses, bacteria, disinfectants and mercury vapor.
We have both types of units: general towers positioned around the office (runnign24/7) and a flexible hose models that help minimize aerosol spread by being close to the drilling site. |
We are striving to support our community by providing the excellent work in these ever-changing circumstances.
